FindYourPetAI respects your privacy. We only collect what is strictly necessary.

What we collect
We collect the absolute minimum of data to make our service work:
Account data — Your name and email address (via Manus OAuth login). We do not store passwords.
Pet data — Photos, name, species, breed, color and distinctive features of your pet. This is needed for AI recognition.
Location — City or region (not your exact address). We use this to match missing pets in your area.
Payment data — Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details.
What we do NOT do
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising trackers
We never sell your data to third parties
We do not ask for your home address — city/region is sufficient
We do not create profiles for marketing purposes
We do not collect data that is not directly needed for the service
AI processing of photos
When you upload a photo, our AI generates a digital 'fingerprint' (embedding) of your pet. This is a series of numbers — not a recognizable image. The original photo is securely stored in our cloud. The fingerprint is used to match your pet with found animals.
Map & location data
On our map, we show missing and found animals with a deliberate offset of ~500 meters. This prevents abuse. We do not show exact addresses, breed information, or contact details on the public map.
Data retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including photos, embeddings and pet profiles — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
Access — Request what data we have about you
Correction — Have incorrect data corrected
Deletion — Have all your data deleted
Portability — Receive your data in a readable format
Objection — Object to processing of your data

Cookies
We only use functional cookies that are necessary for the app to work (session cookie for login). We do not use analytical cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking.
Third parties
Stripe — For payment processing. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
Manus — For authentication (login). Only your name and email are shared.
OpenStreetMap — For map display. No personal data is shared.
Hetzner — Our servers are in the EU (Germany), compliant with GDPR requirements.
